Antique furniture and joinery of high value
Repair, restoration and upkeep of antique furniture, period joinery and high-value pieces. Reversible intervention wherever possible, respecting patina, veneers and original hardware.
What is included
- Regluing and reinforcing joints, legs, rails and chairs.
- Veneer and marquetry: lifting, losses and tone- and grain-matched infills.
- Mouldings, cornices and carved elements: reproduction of missing parts.
- Finishes: cleaning, patina revival, French polish, wax and varnishes.
- Period hardware: freeing, adjustment and protection; runners and hinges.
- Antique doors, shutters and bookcases: adjustment and consolidation.
Materials and equipment
- Animal glue and reversible adhesives for work on antique pieces.
- Veneers selected by species, cut and tone.
- Shellac, natural waxes, spirit stains and traditional varnishes.
- Woodworm treatment products when the diagnosis calls for them.
- Diagnosis and quotation from photographs: 24-48 hours.
- Simple joint or hardware repair: 2-4 hours.
- Veneer repair and local refinishing: 1-3 days in the workshop.
- Full restoration of a piece: 1 to 4 weeks depending on condition.

Indicative prices, VAT not included, first hour of labour included. Additional hour €45. Materials at cost + 15% with the supplier invoice. No call-out charge inside the M-30; €20 up to the M-40. The final price is confirmed in writing before we start.
We do not work on listed heritage items without authorisation and guidance from the competent body. When a piece needs museum-grade conservation we say so and propose the right specialist.
